Clip Strip® is a Brand Name. We Invented the Clip Strip® Merchandiser!

Eco-Pulse™ is an organic additive (not an oxo-biodegradable additive) that enhances the biodegradation of plastic products in a biologically active landfill (appropriate facilities are not available in all areas). Independent ASTM D5511 tests, representing biologically active landfills, have shown 5-15% biodegradation within 30 days. Eco-Pulse™ is scientifically unique and validated for enhanced biodegradation.

Our goal is to drive value for our customers by providing them solutions to meet increasing government, industry and consumer demands for environmental sustainability and biodegradability.

Product Overview

Most companies that make or use plastic products share our environmental concerns about the production and disposal of plastic. Everyone is looking for a solution that maintains the benefits of traditional plastics and yet reduces their company’s environmental footprint in a practical and cost-effective way. We have your solution.

Product Benefits

  • Eco-Pulse® is 100% organic and non-starch based.
  • Eco-Pulse® has proven methane off-gassing which allows it to be re-captured for energy.
  • Over 90% of plastics end up in landfills - biodegradation is enhanced in plastics with Eco-Pulse® in biologically active landfills.
  • Eco-Pulse® additive is accepted by major national brands.
  • Products made with Eco-Pulse® have been scientifically analyzed by 3rd party independent lab.

Eco-Pulse® is easy to use and runs under existing processing conditions. Except for the simple step of adding in Eco-Pulse®, the addition of this organic additive does not change the manufacturing process... we just added approximately 1% to 2% Eco-Pulse® into our production process (the same way we would add a color concentrate.) Products manufactured with Eco-Pulse® have the same physical properties and tensile strength as those manufactured without this additive, hence, performing just as well in their intended applications and usage conditions. These attributes will last until the product is discarded into a biologically active landfill. Eco-Pulse® only starts to work in this active environment by breaking down the plastic into inert humus, methane and carbon dioxide.

How Eco-Pulse® Works

Eco-Pulse® allows treated plastic to be consumed (as a food energy source) by the microbes in a biologically-active landfill

Plastics (or polymers) are made of long molecular chains of organic molecules called monomers. Polymers do not exist naturally, are air-tight and water-tight, and most are designed to be incredibly stable. As a result, polymers do not biodegrade easily and will last in the environment for centuries, possibly forever.

Eco-Pulse® is an organic additive that enhances the biodegradation process through a series of chemical and biological processes when disposed of in a biologically active landfill.

When placed in a biologically active landfill, the ingredients in Eco-Pulse® allow for the formation of a coating (called “biofilm”) on the surface of the plastic. The biofilm is made up of microbes which penetrate the plastic, while other ingredients in Eco-Pulse® work together to expand the molecular structure, in turn making room for microbes. The microbes then send out chemical signals (their way of communicating,) in order to attract additional microbes to the site. Once all of the microbes have been assembled, they collectively feast on the polymer chains, thus breaking down the chemical bonds of the plastic product at an accelerated rate.

Eco-Pulse® enhances the biodegradation of plastic into methane (can be converted to energy), carbon dioxide and inert humus (makes soil richer).

Eco-Pulse® differs from other “degradable plastic additives” available in the market today, mainly because it is the leading additive which produces methane (a critical component of enhanced biodegradation in an anaerobic environment,) which can be recaptured and used as a source of renewable energy.

Test Results

To substantiate our claims of enhanced biodegradation, we have completed multiple studies that include testing from 3rd party independent laboratories and testing authorities.

Eco-Pulse® allows treated plastic to be consumed (as a food energy source) by the microbes in a biologically-active landfill.

Competitive Landscape

Per EPA reports, in 2018, approximately 26.9 million tons of plastic ended up in US landfills, 10 million of which was plastic containers and packaging. Almost all of this plastic will sit in landfills for hundreds if not thousands of years. How can this be prevented? How can we minimize landfill space?

From an environmental perspective, there are a number of issues surrounding other types of additives and resins. Both oxo-degradable and PLA products require an environment with oxygen, heat and moisture in order to begin breaking down. Neither of them truly breaks down in a landfill that does not have heat or moisture. Oxo-products are not recyclable and can leave behind harmful metals and chemicals in the polymer chain. PLA products are not recyclable and use up valuable food resources. Plastic products with Eco-Pulse® in them will enhance biodegradation in biologically active landfills.

Check the fine print. These products claim biodegradability in terms of composting - not in landfills. (FAQ) The bottom line is most plastics, even the ones that can and should be recycled, end up in landfills. Our recycling rate has increased fivefold, yet 47% more trash ended up in landfills or incinerators in 2008 than in 1970. Something else to keep in mind is the small number of commercial composting sites for compostable plastics.

One of Clip Strip Corp.’s primary goals is to clarify this ever-increasing confusion or "greenwashing" currently in the marketplace. Businesses and consumers need to be informed in order to make the right decisions.

*ANY CLAIMS OF BEING  “BIODEGRADBLE” DO NOT NECESSARILY PERTAIN TO ANY GOODS SOLD OR MARKETED IN THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, THIS IS WHY WE DO NOT CALL THEM BIODEGRADABLE. Any and all possible claims that we make do not apply to California, because California prohibits the sale of plastic products that are labeled with the term biodegradable, or any form of this term, or imply in any way that the item will break down, biodegrade or decompose in a landfill or other environment if said item does not fully return to its organic form in less than 1 year. These restrictions apply to all sales in/into California, including internet sales.
